LO3 - Rushes from 17/3/15
1.)Using because it works well with the feel of the trailer
2.) Not using because hannah starts laughing
3.)Using the first part of the video because I think that it will work well in the trailer.
4.)Using because I think that parts of this scene would work if they were edited into the faster part of the trailer.
5.)Using because the way that he is silhouetted would work well as a clip that only lasts a few seconds (6 seconds - 8 seconds)
6.)Not using because you cannot tell what is happening.
7.)Not using because barely anything happens in it
8.)Using because it works well in the fast edited part of the trailer.
9.)Not using because it's the same as clip 8.
10.)Not using because it's a test version of clip 8
11.)Not using it goes on for too long and doesn't look convincing
12.)Not using/ re filming when the actor doesn't turn around
13.)Not using because there is no reason for it to be in the trailer
14.) Not using because it doesn't make sense in terms of the trailer.

LO1-Desolation Treatment
TREATMENT
DESOLATION
THE
BRIEF -
We
have been asked to make a film trailer in the style of warp films, we will not
have a budget and have to get the resources and write it all ourselves.
TARGET
AUDIENCE -
The
target audience would be rated a 15+ according to the BBFC because of the jump
scares and violence intended in the film trailer with dangerous props being
used by a character as weapons in order to try and get rid of characters in the
film.
SEGMENT
SYNOPSIS AND HOW IT RELATES TO THE BRIEF
There is an outbreak of a disease called
MOSC, which has spread, around the country, There are few survivors who have
stumbled upon an abandoned house where they’re trying to keep away from people
with the disease and away from populated places. Unknowingly a scary character
with a mask stumbles upon the house and tries to kill the survivors inside by
trying to get rid of them one by one. We see the characters having to leave the
house in order to run through the woods and get away from the murderer with an
axe in order to survive.
KEY
MILESTONES
1.
Planning - (Narrative, permissions, treatment, location, risk assessment,
role deciding, documentation.) = 27th October pre-production
planning
2.
Filming - (Party scene, horror scenes, dream scenes, arranging of
cast/lighting.) 10TH November – 12th December: Filming
3.
Editing - ( SFX etc) 19th December on wards: Editing
30th
March – Final submission
Launch
date 13th April
EQUIPMENT
We
will be using a camera and tripod for the majority of our filming.
We
will need custom lighting as we will be filming in the dark and it will be hard
to see unless we have a good, bright light.
PROPS
AND MODELS
Clown
like mask with makeup running down the characters face with an axe
A
crowbar is also used as a prop
HEALTH
AND SAFETY CONSIDERATIONS.
For
each location that we film in as part of this production we will complete a
recce form and a risk assessment.
When
we are out filming we will be considering the following -
The
emergency contact number for when we are out filming will be for the college
(0114 260 3970)
The
safety of the equipment will be taken in to consideration and in order to avoid
overheating we will be turning them off periodically to ensure safety.
The
cast will not be required to do anything dangerous, however first-aid will be
easily accessible.
No
equipment will be left out in the open, the environment for filming will be
secure to avoid injury.
LEGAL
AND ETHICAL CONSIDERATIONS.
The
narrative of the trailer contains both psychological horror and jump scares and
as a result it presents the categories of Violence and Threat and as a result
will be rated by the BBFC as a 15.
It
is important to follow the BBFC regulations as they are a way for all films to
be judged fairly and universally so that the intended audience are aware of
what will be included. The way that we have introduced threat into this trailer
is through the use of suspense and music, there is no representation of sexual
or sadistic threat in order to adhere to the guidelines.
When
we have violence shown in the trailer it is quickly moved on and has no focus
on any gore or blood.
The
trailer would have to be on post-watershed, this is because there will be
violence and also hints at sexual content and use of alcohol. It will be a 15+
rating for this film trailer. Reference -
http://stakeholders.ofcom.org.uk/broadcasting/broadcast-codes/broadcast-code/protecting-under-18s/
We
will not be using any copyrighted music and instead we will be using free music
from creative commons and Incompetech.
We
will be getting permission for every actor and location used throughout the
entire filming period, this falls unded the Data protection law of 1998.

THE
BRIEF -
We
have been asked to make a film trailer in the style of warp films, we will not

TARGET
AUDIENCE -
The
target audience is 15+, this is because it will have disturbing themes.
SEGMENT
SYNOPSIS AND HOW IT RELATES TO THE BRIEF
Main
character 'Neil' is hosting a house party, he goes upstairs with a female
acquaintance and as they are alone in the room the music cuts out and there is
a knock on the window, the window is placed 3 stories up in the house. Curious
Neil slowly opens the curtain to see a clown across the road under a single
street lamp on the road. He blinks and the words 'You're next' is written on
the road next to the clown, he calls the girl over and as she approaches the
window the camera points back and everyone has vanished from beneath the light.
He backs away from the window and we start an ellipsis with a dream
sequence showing the clown visiting Neil in his dreams, keep getting closer and
closer making the pace of the trailer more and more rapid. The clown rings the
doorbell in the dream, Neil wakes up and the doorbell is ringing again. The
door is opened and the clown jumps at the camera and it goes to black with the
title.

Lesson review
In today's lesson I have been making sure that everything on my blog is up to date. I have also helping the rest of he group in refining our plan for filming in the holidays. Now we need to go out and actually film the stuff that we have planned. this will be done on Tuesday. This achieves LO2.

LO2-Contingency
Upon evaluation we have decided that we will be altering our trailers
storyline. The storyline instead will be a post-apocalyptic situation
where a bunch of refugees are stuck inside a house and the antagonist breaks
in to the house and starts harassing the survivors.
The new trailer will feature a lot of voice overs to hint at the storyline with clips jumping from calm to action to show what will be happening.

Lesson Review
In today's lesson I have uploaded and evaluated all the clips that were filmed on the 4th of February 2015. we still need to go and film the scenes we need. This achieves LO4.
LO3: Rushes from 4/2/15
1.) We will be using this clip because it gives the idea that the character is being chased by the antagonist.
2.)I don't think we will be using this clip because you can see his neck under the mask
3.)I think we will be using this clip because all you can really see is the mask and it looks creepy and could be used after a white flash.
4.)I don't think we will be using this clip because his face is out of focus.
5.)We are not using this clip because it is irrelevant to the rest of the trailer
6.)we are also not using this clip because it is not relevant to the rest of the trailer.
